G4S Solutions, the company where I served as an HR executive for almost 30 years, was honored for its leadership excellence by HR.com magazine. G4S, the nation’s leading security company, was awarded 4th place from among 200 large businesses at the publication’s 2014 Leadership 500 Excellence Awards.
The press release on the success of G4S’s unique leadership program appeared in Wall Street Journal Online. When I served as Senior Vice President of HR, I helped launch this program as part of the company’s North America Training Institute. The program is designed to provide frontline leaders the information, skills and tools to effectively manage employees and deliver quality, professionalism and operational acumen to all G4S clients. It is available to all G4S managers and executives without cost.
The program allows employees to earn college credit, continuing professional education units (CPE), and continuing education credits (CEU) for the course completion. During the formation stages, I helped foster collaborative partnerships with the University of Maryland, for continuing education units; as well as Thomas Edison State College of New Jersey and Colorado Technical University, for college degree completion programs. Subsequently the program was endorsed by the American Council on Education, which recommends the G4S program for college credit.
